The office will be smart. For König & Neurath AG from Karben, Germany, triangular develops the “Smart.Office”, a system consisting of hardware and software. By means of user profiles, all connected devices and furnishings automatically adapt to the user’s requirements.
The “Smart Office” consists of three central units. A sensor box in each room, the office furnishings and the Smartphone app. With the Smartphone app, chairs and tables can be adapted to the ergonomic requirements of the user and saved as a separate profile in the app. In this way, the personal settings of the chair and table can also be adopted in other rooms. The hardware automatically adapts to the user profile. The sensor box in the room measures fresh air, light intensity, volume and humidity. This data can be transmitted to the user via smartphone to provide feedback on the optimal working situation and possible adjustments.
dreikant developed the smartphone app “K+N Smart.Office” for K+N, which acts as a central interface linking the smart office equipment with the sensor box in the room and the user’s profile settings. The intuitive user guidance in the smartphone app allows chairs and tables to be adjusted in an ergonomically sensible way. As soon as a user profile has been set, it is stored in the app. In this way, the user always has his or her personal profile at hand via smartphone and can also call it up directly in other rooms. The office furniture automatically adapts to the selected profile.
PROTOTYPING PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS AND ELECTRONICS
dreikant develops the first functional prototype of the “Smart Office”, consisting of the central SensorBox with various sensors for fresh air, light intensity, volume and humidity, as well as additional sensors and control interfaces for chairs and tables. The company’s own printed circuit boards were designed and produced especially for the requirements of the “Smart Office” and equipped with the corresponding electronic components. These include interfaces for sensors and actuators as well as Bluetooth chips for the connection to the Smartphone App.
